COACH MICHELLE

 Coach Michelle was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland but now resides in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She began running track at the age of seven and literally ran her way out of the ghetto. She earned a full scholarship to Howard University to run track. While at Howard, she was a six-time All American athlete. During her tenure at Howard, she was ranked top 10 in the U.S. and top 50 in the world in the 400-meter dash. She qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1988 and 1992. She missed making the Olympic team by four spots in 1992 where she finished 12 th in the 400-meter dash and the top eight made the team. She holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting (Howard University), a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, a Masters Degree in Mathematics, and a Certification in Organizational Leadership (Western Kentucky University).  Michelle is a mom of three, a wife, and an award-winning math professor. She woke up one day in 2021 with a wild hair to try bodybuilding at the young age of 53. She began training with Team SBM in February of 2021 and immediately fell in love with the sport. She competed in her first competition in June of 2021. In 2022, she competed in two competitions in April and in July of 2022, in only her fifth competition, she won her class at the NPC Teen, Collegiate and Master’s Nationals. This win earned her an IFBB Pro Card at age 54. She is a dedicated and committed athlete and coach who refuses to let her age define her. She describes herself as a “Fine wine that just gets better with time.”
 Her overall goal is to encourage and assist women to crush their fitness goals. She inspires and motivates others through her consistency, dedication, and hard work both inside and outside of the gym. She is committed to helping others become the best possible version of themselves! While she is
both encouraging and motivating, she always keeps it real. Her strong faith keeps her grounded and humble and forces her to put God first in all that she does.
