COACH MARY NEWTON
Born in Greenville, South Carolina but raised in Sulphur, La. I am one of seven children whom of which were all extremely athletic, so innately I was forced to contribute to our family’s extracurricular trophy cabinet. A ‘diamond in the rough’ is the metaphor used once my running abilities and talents were discovered. They used this metaphor cause I literally attempted EVERY sport and consistently, excuse me, I mean FAITHFULLY rode the bench. But from the moment I stepped on the track that agonizing pain of sitting on the bench until my feet and legs fell asleep came to a screeching halt. Louisiana’s 5-time 800 meter state champion with a Mayor proclaim ‘Mary Newton Day’ graciously accepted a FULL athletic AND academic scholarship to The prestigious Southern university A & M college to continue her track career and obtain a Bachelors and Masters in Speech and Language Pathology.
A crawfish hunting, gumbo eating, barefooted tomboy turned IFBB Bikini Pro who traded in her track spikes and Nike trainers for a pair of bedazzled high heels. Hi there, it’s so nice to meet you. I’m Mary and I’m so happy you found your way to my page and I’m even more excited that you’re interested in getting to know a little bit more about me. I’ve created this sacred space for women from all walks of life to gain knowledge, inspiration, motivation, and empowerment throughout their competition, fitness, or lifestyle journey.
